I create influential coalitions to make change, by translating vision and values into strategy and results. I raised $1.8B to address the climate crisis, convened experts to write the Responsible AI playbook, launched the Giving Pledge, and inspired People in Common.

As COO of Responsible Innovation Labs, I raised $1.85M+, shaped organizational strategy, and led the multi-sector working group of industry stakeholders, civil society, researchers, and policymakers to develop the Responsible AI Framework, a ‘how-to’ guide that distills best practices into first principles.

I helped launch Commonwealth Fusion Systems in 2018. Then as Head of Investor Strategy, I raised $1.8 billion in Series B funding in 12 weeks to unlock a climate solution at the scale of the problem: clean, limitless fusion energy.

I was the first hire on the Giving Pledge and and took the pledge from zero to $1 trillion in three years, growing the ranks to nearly 100 billionaires (today it stands at $3 trillion from 240+ signers) to change norms around charitable giving.

In other roles – founding consulting firms, on the Omidyar impact investing team, for the City of New York, on political campaigns and Capitol Hill, and at Harvard Kennedy School – I have brought together elite influencers, frontline organizers, business executives, and created new organizations and industries to make change. 

As founder of a strategy consulting groups, I successfully designed and executed growth strategies for 50+ clients, including executives at Fortune 50 companies like Google and GE (ex: integrated social impact into GE corporate strategy), incubators like Elemental Excelerator and Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (ex: built impact frameworks across portfolio), funders like Democracy Fund (ex: influenced organizational strategy), and public-private partnerships like Accelerator for America (ex: shaped the organization to support inclusive and sustainable prosperity). 

In government, I ran Public Affairs for the City of New York Parks Department under Michael Bloomberg. On Capitol Hill, I served two Democratic Leaders of the United States Congress. I have worked on various political campaigns and conventions in every election. 

I hold a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, where I co-taught a graduate-level course on community and political organizing with Marshall Ganz and wrote a graduate thesis on civic engagement. I was valedictorian and received and a full-tuition scholarship as a Kennedy Fellow.
